I've been on a prolonged SiChange holiday. First, I discovered that I was rapidly reaching my limit on Blogger because I was posting a lot of photos. Clearly, I was going to have to switch hosts or implement a division of labour between them. I got so bollixed up that I wasn't doing any blogging at all. So, for now, I have decided on the latter. I will have both a blog, SiChange, and a Facebook page. I'd rather have everything integrated, but I haven't figured out how. If anyone has a good solution, I'm listening.
Meanwhile, let me put my cards on the table. There are two reasons I'm writing this blog and maintaining my Facebook page: the first is to write, pure and simple. But the second is to stay connected with my family and friends. The only way this will work with this blog is if you subscribe to it or follow it so that you get the updates automatically. It has become very clear that people are not just going to visit this website without prompting. That way I might even hear from you all occasionally!

G'day Amy,
ReplyDeleteI hate to disagree, but I do visit this website without prompting. I suppose it is hard for you to know this because I almost never post a comment(I have once). This time I am inspired to write because of your comments.
I can empathise with your desire to write and I have in the past witnessed your happiness in doing just that. Further, I am with you in wanting to keep in touch. It is nice having some semblence of continnuity of contact during the period of your sichange. I have enjoyed your postings. Unfortunately I am still a techno-novice with no social-network-savvy. In fact, I am not sure, for example, whether my follower name informs you of my identity - if it doesn't then my one and only posting would have non-plussed you. And if it doesn't then you ought know my name is Keith.
In any event, please be assured that your blog is working. You do write and you have stayed connected. It is the fault of your followers if you don't hear occasionally.
In relation to Abby's need to catch up with times tables the kids that stayed in Australia also had to do that. It seems that Miss Ballantine's Year 2 efforts wre a bit lacking in that area.
Anyhow, it has been good to catch up, keep doing as you are (it is good), and say hi to Simon for me.
Fond regards.
